If your poster just isn’t a size that we carry a frame for, give us a call. We have some options for odd-sized posters. One option is to mat the poster, which we can do for you. Another option is for us to check our inventory for your odd size…we just might not have it on the website. Mats for Frames
Sometimes you need a mat. We carry ready-made mats in standard sizes and not-so-standard closeouts as well. The mat o d or outer dimension size is listed in the product number. For example, CM 11x14 shows mats to fit in an 11x14" frame. The pulldown menu for "size" tells you what size the cutout window, or mat opening is. To determine what opening or window size you need, measure the paper size of the item to be framed subtract ½" from each dimension, that's the size you need for an item so that it doesn't fall through the window. (An example of this is if you need a mat for an 8.5x 11" certificate, you need an 8 x 10.5 opening size.) Often we can create custom mats for you in volume about two weeks from when you place your order, call us for quotes.

Tips on Framing Pictures and More
Measuring for matboard
Best to work from the inside out when creating a framed piece with picture framing process. . Measure your original certificate or artwork and add on your intended mat border, i.e. 1" border around the artwork.
Always allow room for your certificate or artwork to be attached to the mat from behind, at least 1/4" on each side.
Add your artwork dimensions to the mat border you've chosen and you now have the inside frame dimension.
For example, 5x7 photo with ¼" per side for attachment to a mat, with 1" mat border each side equals a 6 ½"x 8 ½" frame. Sound confusing? It's not. Many times it's easier to then adjust your frame size to a standard size, in this case, 8 x 10, we'll enlarge our mat border slightly for this. Once you work through it a few times it seems simple and straightforward.
Don't forget to do the math and your frame will turn out perfectly.
